Spiritual fasting is not just about giving up food or other items, but it is about feeding the spirit through our obedience to God. Here are some scripture versus that can inspire you or help you understand the act of fasting and how it can help you grow closer to God as you pray and focus:

Exodus 34:28

Adventistët -- cilët janë (ITALISHT)

Cosa vuol dire Avventista?
La nostra comunità è sorta negli Stati Uniti verso la metà del secolo scorso e si situa nel solco aperto dal protestantesimo. Crede perciò in Cristo che, solo, può perdonare e salvare.
Promuove molteplici attività, tutte volte alla predicazione della Bibbia, ritenuta l'unica regola di fede, autofinanziamento attraverso le decime e le offerte volontarie dei suoi fedeli.
In Italia opera fin dal 1864 e nel 1986 ha stipulato con il nostro Governo un'Intesa trasformata poi nella legge 22.11.88 n. 516.
Sul territorio nazionale è presente con un centinaio di chiese, una Casa Editrice a Firenze, un Istituto di Cultura Biblica, una Casa di Riposo a Forlì, un Centro di Benessere , un Centro Giovanile a Poppi (Arezzo), una settantina di centri per l'assistenza ai poveri, radio, una grossa installazione radio a onde corte, 1 scuola.
Avventista: cosa significa
In questo nome sono raccolte le caratteristiche fondamentali della chiesa: essa si definisce "cristiana" perchè ha Cristo come centro della propria fede e per distinguersi da altre comunità di credenti.
La Chiesa Avventista tuttavia ha in comune con le altre chiese cristiane (che si possono dividere in tre grandi gruppi: cattolici, protestanti e ortodossi) alcuni fondamenti della fede, come la credenza nella Bibbia quale libro ispirato da Dio, la credenza in Gesù come Dio venuto sulla terra in forma umana per salvare l'uomo caduto nel peccato,ecc.
Perchè Avventista?
"Avventista" significa: "Colui o colei che attende l'avvento di Cristo". La Bibbia ci dice infatti che Gesù dopo la risurrezione, prima di ascendere al cielo, ha promesso ai discepoli che sarebbe ritornato su questa terra per mettere fine al male, alla sofferenza e per inaugurare un mondo nuovo. Gesù ha dato anche ai discepoli dei segni dei tempi, cioè dei segni caratteristici dell'epoca in cui sarebbe tornato, dei segnali che avrebbero permesso ai suoi discepoli di sapere che il suo ritorno si stava approssimando. Noi avventisti crediamo che molti segni si siano adempiuti e quindi che il ritorno di Gesù sia più vicino.
Perchè del 7° Giorno?
Perchè il 7° giorno, secondo la Bibbia è il sabato (Esodo 20:8-11; Levitico 23:3; Luca 23:54;24:1), il nome ebraico che significa riposo. Il 7° giorno è stato scelto da Dio come giorno a lui dedicato fin dal tempo della creazione (Genesi 2:1-3) e la Chiesa Avventista, seguendo l'esempio della chiesa degli apostoli, lo osserva ancora oggi come giorno di astensione dai lavori settimanali, di riposo e di riunione per il culto comune.

Hyrje / Prezantim për Librin e Ezekielit

Katastrofa godet dhe bota përreth shkërmoqet. Njerëzit reagojnë në mënyra të ndryshme, por dy nga përgjigjet më të zakonshmet janë mohimi (ose mospranimi) dhe dëshpërimi. Përgjigja e parë (mohimi) nuk do kurrsesi ta pranojë realitetin e katastrofës. Ai mbyll sytë fort ose kthen kokën nga ana tjetër; vazhdon të sillet sikur gjithçka do të jetë në rregull; për me tepër gjen strehë tek gënjeshtrat, përçatjet dhe fantazitë. Nga ana tjetër, dëshpërimi është paralizuar plotësisht nga katastrofa dhe e sheh këtë të fundit si fundin e botës. Nuk ka as vullnetin më të vogël për të bërë diçka, duke rënë në përfundimin se jeta ka marrë fund dhe nuk ka më kuptim e arsye të jetohet më. Dëshpërimi, i pushtuar krejt nga fatalizmi, i mbyll sytë fort ndaj një bote pa ngjyra dhe pa jetë.

Në rradhët e shkrimtarëve biblikë, Ezekieli është ekspert në rastin e katastrofës. Kur katastrofa goditi – ishte shekulli i 6-të p.K, kur ndodhi pushtimi i Izraelit nga Babilonia – reagimi i parë ishte mohimi/mospranimi i realitetit. Profeti Ezekiel e pa veten duke jetuar mes popullit të Zotit, popull ky (tmerrësisht i ngjashëm me ne sot) që me kokëfortësi refuzonte të pranonte se çfarë po ndodhte (turma e mohimit). Gjithashtu, kishte edhe nga ata që nuk kishin vullnet të shikonin asgjë tjetër përveç asaj që po ndodhte (turma e dëshpërimit).

Por Ezekieli pa! Ai pa atë që njerëzit përreth tij nuk mundnin të shihnin dhe nuk donin të shihnin! Në imazhe të jashtëzakonshme e të paharrueshme, të përshkruara në detaje tepër të imta, Ezekieli pa Zotin duke punuar gjatë epokës së katastrofës. Njerëzit e mohimit refuzuan të pranonin se katastrofa përpara tyre ishte në fakt katastrofike! Si ka mundësi? Zoti nuk do lejonte që gjërat të shkonin aq keq, apo jo? Por Ezekieli u tregoi! U tregoi se, po, katastrofa ishte realitet, por Zoti po punonte gjatë saj, duke e përdorur atë me sovranitet. U tregoi në mënyrë që njerëzit e mohimit të ishin në gjendje të përqafonin Zotin në kohërat më të këqija të mundshme.

Në kontrast, njerëzit e dëshpërimit, të shushatur e katandisur keq nga shkretimi, refuzuan të pranonin se jeta ia vlente te jetohej! Si ka mundësi? Ata kishin humbur gjithçka, apo jo? Ose n.q.s. nuk i kishin humbur ende, ishte thjesht çështje kohe, të gjitha, atdheun, Tempullin, lirinë, dhe shumë, shumë jetë. Por Ezekieli u tregoi! U tregoi se Zoti po po punonte dhe ndodhej mes rrënojave dhe mbeturinave, duke e përdorur katastrofën me sovranitet, për të krijuar një popull të ri të Zotit..

Ose për shkak të mohimit, ose për shkak të dëshpërimit, populli i Zotit për pak sa e humbi identitetin si popull i Zotit. Por nuk e humbi! Populli i Zotit doli nga ai shekull katastrofash më i fortë dhe më i sprovuar. Dhe një nga arsyet kryesore ishte Ezekieli.

We must responsibly turn to mutual respect, love and faith. The time has come to look up to our friend and saviour Jesus, following his life style: a christian styled life. Share your food, the world offers enough food for everybody. Live your life responsibly, without hatred and indifference. Open your heart to Jesus and to your brothers and sisters. Forgive and accept Christ’s forgiveness. Treat nature with great respect, considering the effects of your actions. Be honest, faithful and tolerant.

Let us define a new generation based on Christ’s principles and God’s love: the Christian style generation. People who love themselves, their brothers and sisters, and God! People who live their life responsibly, with love, enthusiasm and joy!

Te dashur miq te Kishes Adventiste te Qendres!

Perfitoj nga rasti per t'ju kujtuar se me rastin e Pashkeve, Sabatin qe vjen, pra 11 prill, do te kemi sherbesen e shenjte te Komunionit (Darkes se Zotit) e cila do te paraprihet nga sherbesa e larjes se kembeve.

Ne kete kontekst, sic eshte lajmeruar dhe ne kishe, java perpara Pashkes (dhe sherbeses se Komunionit) do te ishte nje mundesi shume e mire per nje agjerim "holistik", pra shpirteror dhe fizik. Keshtu, do t'ju ftoja t'i perkushtoheni me shume lutjes kesaj jave dhe, sipas mundesise dhe gjendjes suaj shendetesore, te agjeroni, duke hequr dore nga ushqime dhe/apo pije te te "renda" apo te pasura ne kalori.

Zoti ju bekofte, aq me teper kur kesaj jave meditojme ne vecanti per sakrificen qe Jezusi, Qengji i Pashkes, beri per ne.

Information on the Seventh-day Adventist Reform Movement

I. Origin
In many parts of the world field today Adventists are confronted by an organization calling itself the Seventh-day Adventist Reform Movement. Sometimes this group is designated as the “German Reform Movement” because it originated in Germany. Frequently, this organization is quite hostile, although some of its members have not severed all their emotional ties with the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
From the beginning, Seventh-day Adventists in Europe experienced a number of difficulties, especially in the realm of Sabbath observance and military service. Children were required by law to attend school on Sabbath, and the work-week ended on Saturday afternoon. Adventist young men who complied with the required military service frequently went to prison for their refusal to work and fulfill their duty on Sabbath.
At the beginning of World War I, when the government placed additional pressure on our leaders, church leaders in Germany buckled and instructed church members to fulfill their military duties on Sabbath as other soldiers do on Sunday.
This position on combatant service, as well as doing duty on Sabbath, stood clearly in opposition to the traditional position taken by Adventists in the past. When the German members were confronted with this new position, many began to protest vigorously. Particularly in the city of Bremen the opposition became very vocal against the church’s leadership. This situation caused the leadership to react with further actions and they disfellowshipped the protesters.
The disfellowshipped members then began an open war against the Adventist Church, a war which became very bitter at times. In 1919, before the disfellowshipped members had determined what stand the General Conference had officially taken on the matter of military service, they published 10,000 copies of a pamphlet describing the Adventist Church as the great apostate woman. In the document they attempted to prove from the writings of Ellen White that the words “Babylon is fallen” applied to Seventh-day Adventists, in spite of her clear statements to the contrary. “When anyone arises, either among us or outside of us, who is burdened with a message which declares that the people of God are numbered with Babylon, and claims that the loud cry is a call to come out of her, you may know that he is not bearing the message of truth. Receive him not, nor bid him Godspeed; for God has not spoken by him, neither has He given a message to him, but he has run before he was sent” (TM 41).
Apparently the early Reformers were ignorant of this statement. In 1919 the disfellowshipped members organized themselves into a church body under the name “International Missionary Society of Seventh-day Adventists.” Later when they found statements in the Spirit of Prophecy referring to a reform movement, they saw themselves as a fulfillment of these prophecies and changed their name to “Seventh-day Adventist Reform Movement.”
In 1920, Elder Daniells, the General Conference President, traveled to Germany for talks with the German leadership and the leaders of the Reform Movement. Although Elder Daniells made it clear that the German leadership had made a mistake, his attempts to heal the breach between the two sides failed. Because the General Conference did not immediately disband the division and disfellowship the leaders as a punishment for their sins, the Reformers asserted that the General Conference became responsible for their mistakes.
Since the 1920 meeting, several attempts at reunion have been made, but they all have failed due to the unbending spirit of the Reform leaders who believe that Adventists must accept their views in order to be right with God.

II. Divergent Doctrines
Reformers believe that God called their movement into existence and that it was prophesied to come. Two events are cited as proof:
(1) In 1888, at the General Conference in Minneapolis, the church, they claim, rejected the message of Righteousness by Faith as proclaimed by Waggoner and Jones. God, therefore, raised up the Reform Movement to proclaim this message in clarity.
(2) The leadership, they say, overthrew the commandments of God in 1914 when it encouraged members to serve in the army and fulfill their duty on Sabbath. The Reformers opposed this move, hence they have the right to exist as a separate movement.
Several of their teachings cannot be supported by either Scripture or the Ellen G. White’s writings:
Liberty of Conscience – The Reform Movement insists that the church must spell out and hold up strict and specific standards for the people to follow. In many cases the members themselves expect the church to specify every detail of how they are to act in any given situation, e.g., military service. Little room is given to an individual’s conscience.
Military Service – Reform Adventists believe that no true believer could ever join the military, even in medical work. Seventh-day Adventists hold that church members may serve as noncombatants in the military.
Vegetarianism – They have made the question of vegetarianism a test of fellowship, despite the clear statement from Ellen White, “We are not to make the use of flesh food a test of fellowship” (9T 159).
144,000 – They accept this figure as a literal number. Hence only 144,000 will be redeemed through the preaching of the three angel’s messages in the period extending from 1844 to the end of time. This provides a reason for their small number.
Closed Communion – Reform Adventists hold that since Christ held the Last Supper alone with his disciples, the Communion service is reserved only for members in good and regular standing.
Divorce and Remarriage – The stand taken by the Reform Movement on this subject is that no matter what has taken place in a marital breakup, there is no possibility even for the innocent party to be restored to church membership if he or she remarries.
The Remnant – It is taught that there are three entities in Revelation 12:17, the woman, the seed, and the remnant. The woman is seen as a symbol for the Protestant churches, the seed is the Seventh-day Adventist Church, and the remnant refers to the Reform Movement.
The Laodicean Message – The warning addressed to Laodicea is believed to apply to the SDA General Conference leadership and indicates the rejection of the Adventist Church. In an attempt to find a biblical foundation for this view, they note that the message is addressed to “the angel of the church,” which they assume is the church’s leadership.

Viktor Gjika – Ky Fëmijë i Perëndisë

Viktor Gjika, përveçse ishte nje personalitet i shquar i artit shqiptar, një regjizor që dha një kontribut të jashtëzakonshëm, ishte edhe njëkohësisht fëmijë i Perëndisë, një besimtar i përulur dhe i thjeshtë i krishterë Adventist. Kisha Adventiste ishte shtëpia e tij shpirtërore, ndërsa besimin Adventist ai e trashëgoi nga e ëma, e paharruashmja nënë Meropi Gjika, e cila e mbajti besimin të gjallë për dekada të tëra dhe me dashuri i rriti Viktorin dhe fëmijët e tjerë që ta duan Zotin dhe të mbajnë urdhërimet e Tij.

Ndërkohë që dita e sotme dhe ditët e ardhshme janë ditë trishtimi, ditë lotësh, ne gjejmë ngushëllim që Viktor Gjika fle në Krishtin, aq më tepër kur ne, si të krishterë kemi shpresën e ringjalljes, premtuar nga vetë Zoti ynë Jezus Krisht:

Gjoni 11:25 - Jezusi i tha: "Unë jam ringjallja dhe jeta; ai që beson në mua, edhe sikur të duhej të vdesë do të jetojë."

Zbulesa 1:17b-18 - "Mos u tremb! Unë jam i pari dhe i fundit, dhe i gjalli; isha i vdekur, por ja, jam i gjallë në shekuj të shekujve, amen; dhe unë i kam çelësat e vdekjes e të Hadesit."

Zbulesa 21:3-4 – "Ja tempulli i Perëndisë është me njerëzit! Dhe Ai do të banojë me ta; edhe ata do të jenë populli i Tij dhe vetë Perëndia do të jetë bashkë me ta, Perëndi e tyre. Dhe Perëndia do të thajë çdo lot nga sytë e tyre; dhe vdekja nuk do të jetë më; as brengë, as klithma, as mundim, sepse gjërat e mëparshme shkuan."

Dhe këtë po jua themi me fjalën e Zotit: ne të gjallët, që do të mbetemi deri në ardhjen e Zotit, nuk do të jemi përpara atyre që kanë fjetur,sepse Zoti vetë, me një urdhër, me zë kryeengjëlli dhe me borinë e Perëndisë, do të zbresë nga qielli dhe ata që kanë vekur në Krishtin do të ringjallen të parët; pastaj ne të gjallët, që do të kemi mbetur, do të rrëmbehemi bashkë me ata mbi retë, për të dalë përpara Zotit në ajër; dhe kështu do të jemi përherë bashkë me Zotin. Ngushëlloni, pra, njëri-tjetrin me këto fjalë," thotë Apostulli Pal. Dhe ne ngushëllohemi sot dhe marrim zemër se do ta takojmë Viktorin sërish, ditën e ardhjes (Adventit) së Mbretit të Mbretërve, Jezu Krishtit.

LUTJE - I dashur Zot, Krijuesi dhe Shpëtimtari ynë, Ndërkohë që në dashurinë, dhembshurinë dhe urtësinë Tënde, ti ke lejuar vëllain tonë të dashur, Viktorin, që të bjerë në gjumë në Krishtin, ne me hijeshi e dorëzojmë trupin e tij në dhe nën kujdesin e engjëjve të Tu të shenjtë, me shpresën e sigurt tek zgjimi i ringjalljes së mrekullueshme, kur Zoti ynë Jezus Krisht do të rikthehet në lavdi. Atëherë ky trup do të transformohet dhe do të bëhet si trupi i lavdishëm i i Zotit tonë dhe, së bashku me gjithë besimtarët, të gjallë e të zgjuar, do të jetojmë në përjetësinë e mundësuar nga sakrifica e Jezu Krishtit, në emër të të cilit lutemi, AMEN.

Kam kënaqësi të veçantë të lajmëroj se i ftuar i veçantë për Festivalin e Besimit sabatin e 7 marsit do të jetë themeluesi i Kishës Adventiste në Shqipëri, Pastor David Currie.

Ky sabat është një mundësi e shkëlqyer për kishën tonë që të rimblidhet e bashkuar në adhurim pas gati 17 vitesh themelimi.

La felicità è prima di tutto il risultato di un’attitudine, piuttosto che la conseguenza di eventi che accadono. In poche parole: è in primo luogo una questione di scelta. Possiamo decidere di non lasciarci invadere dalla collera e dall’animosità nei confronti dell’altro… Eppure, quante volte abbiamo scelto di essere gli artefici del nostro disagio sviluppando in noi uno scenario guidato dall’amarezza, dal risentimento, dal sospetto, dall’immaginazione…
La Bibbia dice “Siate sempre lieti perché appartenete a Dio. Lo ripeto, siate sempre lieti”
La vita Christian Style è bella non perché (e solo quando) gli eventi che ci circondano sono positivi, ma perché essa appartiene a colui che è l’Eterno, il Creatore dei cieli e della terra, il Salvatore dell’umanità: Gesù!

Happiness is foremost the result of attitude and not a consequence of events that occur. To put it shortly: it is a question of choice. We can decide to not let ourselves be overcome by anger and animosity towards others… And yet, how often we have chosen to be the authors of our own discomfort by allowing ourselves to be guided by bitterness, resentment, suspicion…
The Bible says, “Always be happy because you belong to God. I say again, always be happy”.
The Christian Style life is beautiful not because (and only when) the circumstances around us are positive but because it belongs to the Eternal One, the Creator of the heavens and the earth, the Savior of mankind: Jesus!

Kjo strukturë është në përputhje me praktikën zyrtare të Kishës Adventiste® mbarëbotërore si dhe kushtetutën e Misionit Shqiptar.
